Students have the right to submit an Academic Deferment Appeal if they experienced extenuating circumstances beyond their control that occurred after the deadline to withdraw. Appeals must meet the following guidelines:

1. Deadline: All appeals must be submitted no later than 11:59 PM on Sunday, January 5, 2025.
2. Documentation: Students must include supporting documentation to substantiate their appeal and explain the extenuating circumstances.
3. Submission Process: Appeals must be submitted using the appropriate link based on their major.

Only appeals meeting the criteria of extenuating circumstances beyond the student’s control will be approved. Notifications regarding the status of Academic Deferment Appeals will be sent out by January 8, 2025. If you have any questions regarding your appeal, please contact cares-staff@memphis.edu.
