Tommy Winston

Tommy joined the University of Memphis staff in September 2023 to serve as a Learning Specialist for Athletic Academic Services. His responsibilities include conducting individual academic assistance appointments and assessments with student athletes who are academically at-risk, scheduling academic mentoring sessions for student-athletes with learning disabilities, reviewing, and interpreting reports for student athletes with learning disabilities, and assisting with training and oversight of academic mentors and tutors.
In addition to serving as an Athletic Learning Specialist, Tommy is a member of the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A) and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc (2005). He is also an assistant football coach at Northpoint Christian School.
Originally from Natchez, Mississippi, he enjoys traveling, being outdoors, and pouring into the lives of young men and women. He and his wife, Pavielle, have two sons, Ayden (2012) and Dylan (2017).
