About Maya Robertson

Maya Robertson joined the Center for Athletic Academic Services (CAAS) in December 2023 as an intern who assisted Men’s Football, Men’s Soccer, Women’s Softball, Women’s Volleyball, and Men’s and Women’s Cross Country/Track and Field teams with academic and social development skills. Prior to CAAS, Maya was the Departmental Assistant of International Studies at Rhodes College of Memphis, TN. Maya also served as the Academic Tutor for Southwest Tennessee Community College as part of her doctoral internship. She provided academic assistance to at-risk students, student-athletes, and adult students enrolled in English Composition and Professional Writing courses.

Maya is a member of the National Association of Academic and Student-Athletes Development Professionals (N4A), the Journal of Developmental Education, the American Educational Research Association (AERA), and the National Council on Measurement in Education (NCME). Maya was part of NSULA’s cross country and track and field teams, where she achieved a full athletic scholarship through hard work, discipline, and overcoming adversity. It is an honor to be able to assist and provide academic services to the University of Memphis students. Maya is an enthusiastic member of the Memphis community, as she enjoys running long distances, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys hanging out with her Fleur-de-Lis Robertson (dog), traveling, and watching sports.
