Navigate is a comprehensive technology that links administrators, faculty, staff, and advisors in a coordinated care network to support students from enrollment to graduation. Navigate is the official appointment scheduling platform for academic advising, tutoring, and academic coaching at the University of Memphis. Early Intervention and daily class attendance tracking are also routed through Navigate.
Getting Started with Navigate
Requesting Access
Navigate access is based on your current Banner access and updates nightly. If you are an advisor and have access to the Advising page in myMemphis or are able to clear registration pins in Banner, then you should already have access to Navigate. If you are an instructor and are teaching at least one class in the current semester, you should also already have access. To request advising access, fill out the Request for Access to Banner form and return to the Registrar's Office at reg_security@memphis.edu. When filling out the form, you should simply check the "Add Advising Tab" checkbox in order to gain access to Navigate. Completion of the FERPA Tutorial is required to gain access to Banner, Navigate, and other university systems that contain student data.
Logging In To Navigate
You can login to Navigate in from three places using your UofM credentials:
- myMemphis portal Advising page
- myMemphis portal Faculty page
- Directly at https://memphis.guide.eab.com/
Calendar Integration and Appointment Availability
Once logged in, you need to integrate your U of M calendar with the Navigate platform. This integration will pull in Free/Busy times from your U of M calendar and push appointments scheduled in Navigate to your U of M calendar. Details of appointments on your U of M calendar will not be visible to students in Navigate. The only information synced into Navigate is the dates/times that your U of M calendar shows you as Busy. This will keep students from scheduling with you during a time that you have another appointment scheduled on your U of M calendar
Next, you will need to create appointment availability. Availability allows staff to indicate the days, times, locations, and services for which they are available to meet with students. Staff can choose whether the availability active duration is for a specific term, a specific set of dates, or forever (i.e. until you make changes). Staff can set availability for appointment scheduling, drop-in visits, and/or appointment campaign purposes.
