International Credit - Credential Evaluation Process

The University of Memphis requires that all international applicants transferring credits or applying for scholarships provide an evaluation of all education achievements obtained at any institution outside the United States.  The University of Memphis accepts evaluated coursework from agencies certified by NACES® (National Association of Credential Evaluation Services) or AICE® (Association of International Credential Evaluators). If you have received communication (letter/e-mail) from the University of Memphis requesting Foreign Academic Credentials Evaluation, you are encouraged to follow the instructions below to have all prior coursework evaluated.

  • Choose an agency associated with AICE or NACES
  • Select an agency from the list by clicking on the name which then takes you to their individual website.
  • Complete the agency's online application.
  • Freshman Applicants should order a "General" or "Document by Document Evaluation" with a Grade Point Average (GPA) Calculation (on a 4.0 scale)
  • Transfer Applicants should order a "Course by Course Evaluation"
  • List the University of Memphis as the Recipient of the Evaluation
  • Students are required to pay the agency for this service

SpanTran and IEE are our recommended international transcript evaluation services. They have created a custom application for the University of Memphis that will help you select the right kind of evaluation at a discounted rate.
