About Shirley Ford
Shirley directs the planning, execution, and delivery of the University’s financial reporting activities to all constituents. She is responsible for providing leadership and oversight to the areas of Financial Reporting, University and Student Business Services (USBS), General Accounting, Payroll, and Shared Services, as well as coordinating relevant activities among other Business and Finance areas and other University departments. She works closely with the AVP for Financial Planning for the planning, coordination, and evaluation of financial policies and procedures, and for providing financial information and metrices to the Executive Vice President, COO & CFO. She is responsible for the preparation of presentations for the Board of Trustees and responses to Board inquires. Shirley has more than 35 years of experience in the accounting and finance profession. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Municipal Finance Officer. Prior to joining the University, she served as the Chief Financial Officer for the City of Memphis and as the Interim CEO of Leadership Memphis. Her educational background includes both a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Memphis.
