Mike Burns can be heard on WUMR's Late Night Monday Jazz from 9PM - Midnight. He plays a variety of Jazz artists but gravitates toward the classics and contemporary. Mike enjoys talking with the listeners and encourages requests during the show, especially for new music and Memphis artists. His favorite artists include: John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald, The Rippingtons, Airborne, Bony James, and Kirk Whalum. Mike is also an avid radio listener who understands the important role it has played throughout history. He enjoys all forms of broadcast on both the AM and FM dials.

Originally from the Jersey Shore, Mike came to Memphis permanently in 2000 and graduated from the University of Memphis with a BBA in 2005. He is currently working toward an MBA at Christian Brothers University. Mike attends St. Anne Catholic Church on Highland St., just off the University of Memphis campus, where he is an active parishioner. Mike is married to his lovely wife and has two wily puppies.
