Evelyn "Duchess of Jazz" Ellington graduated from Melrose High School, earned her B.A. in Philosophy from Wellesley College and her M.A. from the University of Memphis in Communications.  The Duchess developed an interest in broadcasting at a very young age and worked at WZLY, WEEI and WKBL-TV in Massachusetts.  The Duchess has also pursued other interests in her career in human/civil rights enforcement, compliance and administration as well as community relations.  Currently, The Duchess is an entrepreneur, developing a business as an Independent Contractor and Consultant. She grew up listening to artists such as Miles Davis, Dave Brubeck, the Adderley Bothers, Oscar Peterson, and John Coltrane. Ellington is always up for a live jazz set.  WUMR fits right in as one of her favorite places to be.  Keep her company on Friday nights from 7 p.m. until midnight.
