The public is invited to attend as the University of Memphis holds its winter commencement on Sunday, December 16th, 2012. Graduation at the FedEx Forum starts at 1 p.m. and again at 5 p.m.

A total of 1,669 degrees will be awarded in two ceremonies at the Forum. This number is part of a record setting total of 4,332 U of M graduates in 2012.

The featured speaker will be Dr. Scott Morris, founder and executive director of the Church Health Center. He has an undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia, a master of divinity degree from Yale University, and a medical degree from Emory University. He is a board-certified family practitioner, an ordained United Methodist minister, and writes a monthly column for the Commercial Appeal.
