FreeWorldFreeWorld will have live performances this month at Blues City Café, located on 138 Beale Street in Downtown Memphis. The concerts will be held Sunday, December 29th, 2013. Showtimes for the events begin at 9:30 p.m.

FreeWorld has been an independent musical ensemble since 1987. Influenced by John Coltrane, Frank Zappa, The Grateful Dead, Steely Dan and The Meters, these musicians under one multicultural groove have remained a consistently entertaining and informed voice on the Memphis music scene since its inception.

The band features 82-year-old jazz saxophone legend Herman Green, who has performed & recorded with Miles Davis, John Coltrane, B.B. King, and many others. In addition, the group has released their latest album titled From the Bluff.

FreeWorld is literally 'new school meets old school', and has been variously described as "The Best of Memphis, New Orleans, & San Francisco." It's all rolled into one fresh & excitingly unique musical experience!
