According to his website, Billy Gibson first picked up the harmonica at a very young age in his hometown of
Clinton, MS. He said that he liked the feel of the harp in his hands, and could easily
make sounds with it.
After graduating high school and performing with The Midnighters in Clarksdale, Gibson
left Mississippi for Memphis. While in the "Bluff City," he learned to play chromatic
harmonica from Pete Pedersen.
Billy Gibson received an endorsement from Hohner harmonicas in 1999, a Bachelor of
Arts in music from the University of Memphis in 2003, and has toured in the U.S. and
around the world.
Gibson also works solo and has performed alongside Deborah Coleman, Michael Burks,
Billy Swan, and Randy Owen.
