Gladius Lewis, an international leader in the field of orthopedic biomaterials and implant design has been named the recipient of the 2013 Willard R. Sparks Eminent Faculty Award.

For the 11th year, the U of M honored two individuals with its Alumni Association Distinguished Advising Award. Kriangsiri Malasri and Laura Snyder accepted their awards during a May luncheon.
trophy Grant, Jackson selected for Briggs Teaching Award
Dr. Angela Grant and Dr. Leonard Jackson have been selected to receive the Thomas W. Briggs Foundation Excellence in Teaching Award. The award recognizes teaching excellence at the undergraduate level and overall commitment to undergraduate education.

Two individuals who have helped make the University of Memphis a national leader in internships were honored with the Allen J. Hammond Presidential Service Award.

The cliché excuse for tardiness at the U of M — “I got lost” — won’t hold starting in August. A computer, smartphone or tablet will give users access to precise directions and maps for certain buildings on campus right down to the exact room with indoor mapping from Google Maps.
