Moira received her MFA in Dance from Sarah Lawrence College and a BA in Drama from Vassar College. Before joining the faculty at the U of M in 1985, she served on the faculty of The Ohio State University. She is the recipient of The Tennessee Arts Commission's Choreography Fellowship and was selected as Dance Educator of the year by the Tennessee Association of Dance.

Her teaching specialities are choreography and bodywork for performers. She has extensive credits in performance, choreography, and guest teaching. Moira currently serves as the Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and Research for the College of Communication & Fine Arts.
