Michael received his MFA from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1998. That same year he joined the U of M Design Faculty as Technical Director, and his teaching specialties include technical production and management.

His professional credits include: the Chautauqua Institution, New York; The Coterie Children's Theatre and The Kansas City Repertory Theatre in Kansas City, Missouri. He is also the Young TD Mentoring Project leader for the Technical Production Commission of USITT.
