Four-year Plans of Study – Class Rotation for BFA

Musical Theatre

Design and Technical Production

The Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) Degree in theatre at the University of Memphis is a program specifically designed for students whose interests and abilities strongly suggest potential for pursuing careers as artists in the resident, professional, community, or academic theatre.

By enrolling in our program you have elected to complete the necessary credits to earn a BFA degree in theatre from the Department of Theatre & Dance with an emphasis in Performance or Design and Technical Production.

Acceptance to the BFA program is based on successful admittance to the University of Memphis and successful application to the Department including an audition or interview. Admission to the BFA curriculum does not imply your permanent tenure in the program. After admission, you are expected to audition and interview on either an annual or semester basis.
It is at this time that the BFA Committee will evaluate your artistic growth, development of technical facility, and continuing commitment to creative excellence in the area of Performance or Design and Technical Production. Permission to continue in the program will be based upon this evaluation.
