The Department of Social Work would like to congratulate our 2012-2013 Phi Alpha Honor Society BA & MSW Inductees.
The Department of Social Work is proud to announce that Náthali Blackwell's thesis was awarded the prestigious honor of the Morton Thesis Award. She was one of two students nominated in March 2013 by the College of Arts & Sciences Council for Research and Graduate Studies. Her nomination and award from the department and the college is a special honor, indicative of the high quality of her thesis prospectus. Selection for the University of Memphis award was made by the Graduate Directors and was recently announced. Congratulations Náthali for this prestigious honor! The Department of Social Work is happy to announce that the MSW Advance Standing Program was approved!!!!

The Department of Social Work resides in the School of Urban Affairs & Public Policy within the College of Arts & Sciences. The Program offers the Bachelors of Arts degree in Social Work and the Master of Social Work. The BA degree is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) and the MSW degree is in candidacy for CSWE accreditation.* Both degree programs include significant work experience through field placement.
*Full accreditation for the MSW program anticipated February 2014.
