The University of Memphis Center for Information Assurance will host its second annual
Cyber Security Expo, themed “Global Cyber Security,” on Thursday, Oct. 15, at the
FedEx Institute of Technology. Sessions will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The keynote speaker will be Denise Wood, corporate vice president and chief information
security officer for FedEx Corp. Her topic will be “Walking the Tightrope: Balancing
Risk with the Business Demands of a Global Enterprise.”
Wood was named 2007 National Information Security Executive of the Year in the enterprise
category by Executive Alliance, and was selected one of Computerworld magazine’s Premier 100 IT Leaders for 2007 in recognition of excellence in technology
leadership. In 1995, she was appointed the first chief information officer for the
FedEx Asia-Pacific region. Wood spent three years in Hong Kong creating the information
infrastructure to support that fast-growing region, and was responsible for all FedEx
information technology and billing functions from Beijing to Sydney.

Admission is $125 and includes sessions, meals, refreshments, and parking. Discounts
