Up 'til Dawn Events Will Raise Awareness, and Money, for St. Jude

Up ’til Dawn at the University of Memphis will hold a series of fundraising activities to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital during its Awareness Week, beginning Nov. 15. The events are part of the organization’s year-round mission to raise funds and awareness for the hospital.
The Awareness Week calendar includes:
Sunday, Nov. 15, noon-4 p.m. – Kick-off at Incredible Pizza. When customers order food and play games, part of the proceeds will go to Up ’til Dawn.
Monday, Nov. 16, 7:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. – Members of the Up ’til Dawn executive board and morale captains will offer “Couch Rides to Class for the Kids.” They will be pushing a couch on wheels, offering students, faculty and staff rides on campus for a donation of any amount.
Tuesday, Nov. 17, 6 p.m. – Fundraising dinner and silent auction, Rose Theatre. Admission is $5.
Wednesday, Nov. 18, 11a.m.-1p.m. – Bake sale in the Tiger Den
Thursday, Nov. 19, 7:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. – “Couch Rides to Class for the Kids” around campus
Friday, Nov. 20, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. - Bake sale in the Tiger Den
All week – Jeans for St. Jude; faculty and staff can make a donation to wear jeans on a regular class day in place of their usual business casual attire.

Up ’til Dawn was founded at the University of Memphis in 1999. Since then, the program has spread to more than 200 college campuses and now generates more than $5 million annually for the hospital. Overall, the program has raised more than $20.6 million nationwide since its inception. U of M students have raised more than $969,000 for St. Jude through Up ’til Dawn since 1999, including $161,000 in 2009.
