More than 1,000 high school students will demonstrate their knowledge of foreign
languages and cultures at the 17th annual Foreign Language Fair on Saturday, April
5, at the University of Memphis. The event will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Psychology
Auditorium and in Dunn Hall.
The Memphis-area students will compete in a variety of contests, including poetry
recitation, writing, costumes, folk dance, drama, music, projects, crafts, and a culture
bowl. Competitive events will be conducted in French, German, Japanese, Latin, and
