The Law School Alumni Chapter of the University of Memphis has chosen new members
and officers for the coming academic year. The Hon. David S. Kennedy (JD 70), Chief US Bankruptcy Judge, will serve as president of the board. Other members are JoAnn Cutting (BS 63, JD 84), with State Volunteer Mutual Insurance Co.; the Hon. Louis Montesi (JD 76), General Sessions Court Div. I3; Andre B. Mathis (BA 03, JD 07), with Glankler Brown PLLC; Andy Raines (BBA 77, JD 80), with Evans Petree PC; and Kyle M. Wiggins (JD 04), with Baker Donelson Bearman Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC.
Board members serve a three-year term, while officers serve for one year. The Law
Alumni Board advises the membership of the law alumni group and helps support the
law school and the U of M Alumni Association.
The Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law prepares graduates for private practice and public
service. The school has been named by preLaw magazine as a “best value law school,” based on the combination of three criteria: low tuition, the high percentage of graduates passing the Tennessee bar exam, and
the success of graduates in finding employment.

The school is accredited by the Council of the Section of Legal Education and Admissions
to the Bar of the American Bar Association, the official accrediting agency for legal
education, and is a member of the Association of American Law Schools, the society
for legal education in the United States. Graduates of the Cecil C. Humphreys School
of Law include judges, other public servants, and leading practitioners in the Mid-South
and throughout the nation.
