Joanna Curtis is New Development Director for College of EducationFor release: February 18, 2008 For press information, contact Gabrielle Maxey Joanna Curtis has joined the Advancement Division at the University of Memphis as director of development for the College of Education. She is working with Interim Dean Mike Hamrick and his leadership team to create a comprehensive development plan for the College. She also is responsible for designing and implementing strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors. Curtis has more than eight years of experience in development and fundraising. She had been director of development and marketing for Partners in Public Education (PIPE). In this role, she was responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all aspects of a comprehensive fundraising and marketing program for the organization. Prior to her work with PIPE, Curtis held fundraising positions at Habitat for Humanity of Greater Memphis and the Memphis Public Library and Information Center. A graduate of Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn., Curtis is pursuing her master's degree in public administration at the U of M.
