Visiting Health Scholar Will Discuss Applications of System Dynamics University News

The University of Memphis School of Public Health will present its Visiting Public Health Scholar Seminar at 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 27, in the FedEx Institute of Technology Video Conference Center. Dr. Peter Hovmand will discuss “Rethinking Systems: Applications of System Dynamics in Human Services, Communities and Public Health.”

Hovmand is founding director of the Social System Design Lab at the George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis. His research focuses on how organizations and communities can successfully implement and sustain innovations to improve outcomes in mental health services, community responses to domestic violence, health services, obesity prevention, and natural resources.

He holds degrees in electrical engineering, mathematics, and social work.

Convenient parking is available in the Fogelman parking garage on Innovation Drive.
