The University of Memphis President’s Leadership Recognition Awards ceremony on April
13 will honor students, advisors, and registered student organizations for exemplary
leadership and service on campus and in the community during the 2007-08 academic
year. The ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. in the Panhellenic Building Ballroom on
the U of M campus.
The 2007 Carson Circle Fellows will be recognized at the event. The Carson Circle
is the University’s highest honor for character and campus leadership. It is awarded
to seniors who demonstrate a commitment to placing service above self, treating others
with dignity and respect, establishing relationships with people different from themselves,
having a well-rounded collegiate experience, and contributing positively to the quality
of life at the U of M.
Also announced will be recipients of the Jimmy Carter Presidential Award, Phoenix
Award, Excellence in Service Award, Program of the Year, Advisor of the Year, Organization
of the Year, and Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.
Outstanding leadership and service awards also will be presented by the Student Government
Association, Student Judicial and Ethical Programs, the Residence Hall Association,
Adult Student Association, International Student Association, Minority Affairs, Student
Disability Services, Student Activities Council, and the Greek system.
