Requirements for a second major in Physics

Second Major with Engineering:

We are pleased to be able to offer Engineering Majors the opportunity to improve their prospects for success in future job placement and advancement by obtaining a second major in Physics.

A total of twenty-nine (29) semester hours beyond PHYS 2110/2111 and PHYS 2120/2121, many of which will count toward the engineering degree or are already required by the engineering major. Since Civil, Computer, Electrical, Industrial, and Mechanical engineering students take different courses to satisfy their degree requirements, the program for the second major in physics is different for each engineering discipline. Please take a look at the table below to see which physics classes are required beyond the courses already required for your Engineering major.
