Spindel Conference 2010

The 29th annual Spindel Conference will take place October 7–9, 2010 at the University of Memphis. The topic of this year's conference is "Empathy and Ethics."

The opening keynote address will be delivered by Stephen Darwall. John Deigh and Peter Goldie will also deliver keynote talks. The conference director is Remy Debes.

Emerging Scholar
The Emerging Scholar Prize Essay will be delivered at a special breakfast session preceding the regular Friday sessions. The essay will be considered for publication alongside regular conference proceedings in the annual Spindel Supplement to The Southern Journal of Philosophy. The winning author will receive a prize in the amount of $250. The top runner-up will be asked to chair the breakfast session, and all finalists will be invited to prepare a poster, to be displayed throughout the conference weekend.
