All New Student Orientation sessions for students entering Fall 2014 are now complete; however there is still time to register! At this time, you will need to proceed directly to advising:

The University of Memphis requires academic advising prior to registration. This
session will focus your registration on the most effective pathway toward graduation.
Your advisor will give you academic advice and course recommendations. Once you meet
with your advisor, you will be cleared to register.

Additionally, the Academic Counseling Center (ACC) is seeing first time freshmen,
who missed orientation, on an appointment basis the week of August 11th. Walk-in advising
will be available the week of August 18th.
Students who attend earlier sessions generally have better options for class selections.
Please note there are specific sessions for music majors (May 22-23; June 23-24, June
9-10, July 7-8).

May 22-23 (For University Academic Scholarship Recipients ONLY)
Below is an abbreviated outline of the schedule for your two-day session. You will
receive a more detailed schedule when you arrive at Orientation. Orientation is a
continuous program with all activities scheduled in a necessary sequence. Students
are required to attend all sessions on both days and to spend the night on campus.
The orientation schedule requires extensive walking so please wear comfortable shoes
and bring an umbrella!

Students will have various times for advising and registration. Although you may finish
earlier, please be prepared to stay until 4:00 p.m.
All incoming freshmen will receive a brochure in their mailbox with detailed information
about New Student Orientation. If you did not receive a brochure in the mail, you
may download one here. You must have been admitted to the University of Memphis in order to attend New
Freshman Orientation Student Fee - $100
Includes one night in an on-campus residence hall, three meals, refreshment breaks,
and Orientation materials.
