The Holiday Inn at The University of Memphis has earned the InterContinental Hotels Group 2006 Torchbearer Award as one of the best Holiday Inn hotels for achieving the highest levels of excellence in all aspects of operational and customer satisfaction.
For the fourth year in a row – every year since it opened – the Holiday Inn at The University of Memphis has been recognized as a top performer. The hotel won the Newcomer of the Year Award in 2003 and The Torchbearer Award in 2004, 2005, and now again in 2006.
The Holiday Inn at The University of Memphis is one of only 20 out of 1,400 full service hotels in North and South America to receive the Torchbearer Award.
The Hotel was honored during InterContinental Hotels Group Americas Investors and Leadership Conference in Toronto, Canada. Accepting the award were President, Tom Johnson, Managing Partner, Wilson Conference Center Group, LLC; Debbie Cowgill, General Manager, Holiday Inn at The University of Memphis; Chef Edward Nowakowski, Food & Beverage Director; and Kem Wilson, President, Wilson Hotel Management Company, Inc.
