|New Data Management Association Will Host Lecture Nov. 15

The new Mid-South chapter of the Data Management Association (DAMA) International will hold its inaugural event Nov. 15 at 5:30 p.m. at the University of Memphis' FedEx Institute of Technology. Dr. Peter Aiken of Virginia Commonwealth University, an expert on data management, will speak on "Evolving Data Management Challenges" and "XML for Data Management: Usage Examples."
The chapter is being formed by a committee of local data professionals chaired by Dr. Mark L. Gillensen, a professor in the Department of Management Information Systems of the U of M's Fogelman College of Business & Economics.
