The University of Memphis will host its third annual Housing and Child Care Information Fair on Wednesday, March 22, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Michel D. Rose Theatre. The fair is sponsored by Adult and Commuter Student Services, which provides campus and community resources and services to non-traditional age students and commuter students.
The purpose of the fair is to provide adult and commuter students with an opportunity to learn about off-campus housing and childcare options in the community. Students can speak one-to-one with representatives from local housing/apartment properties and childcare centers.
In conjunction with the Fair, Adult and Commuter Student Services will host a seminar entitled “Keys to Successful Apartment Living” Wednesday, March 15, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in the University Center, Room 404. One of four “Wild Wednesday” training seminars hosted by the department each semester, it will focus on topics such as tenant rights, understanding lease agreements, what to look for when apartment hunting, and other subjects pertaining to off-campus housing. Facilitators will include Michele Harris, residential development manager at Crye-Leike Property Management, and Brenda Oats-Williams, attorney at Memphis Area Legal Services.
