|FedEx Institute Announces Semifinalists in Business Plan Competition

The FedEx Institute of Technology has announced the semifinalists of the inaugural Mid-South Business Plan Competition. The finals for the Inaugural Business Plan Competition will be held April 1 at 1 p.m. in the Institute's Methodist Presentation Theatre.
The six semifinalists are AbliTech, which focuses on the development of new polymer products and polymer/drug combination products that advance healing technology; Biz, which reduces IT costs for small and mid-sized businesses by functioning as a liaison between large IT service providers and the companies; AgROBOTICS, an agricultural equipment producer that specializes in precision agriculture products; Deep Web Analytics, a search engine for the deep Web, helping users find information that traditional search engines do not index; NanoTect, which specializes in protecting exposed metal surfaces that corrode with a nano-thin film that self-assembles and adheres to the metal surface; and NuBone Technologies, which is involved in medicinal polymer applications with uses across human therapeutic areas and in veterinary medicine.
The grand prize winner will receive $20,000, with $5,000 going to the first runner-up and $2,500 to the second runner-up.More information is available online at http://fedex.memphis.edu/BizPlan.
