Lipman
School Will Demonstrate Montessori Method April 22

The
Barbara K. Lipman Early Childhood School and Research Institute
will hold a classroom demonstration and open house Tuesday,
April 22, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The event will focus on a
multi-age, first- through third-grade Montessori class.
The
instructor, Alex Perry, is a doctoral candidate at The U of
M. He holds a certificate in Montessori elementary education
through the Association Montessori Internationale. He was
trained at the Washington Montessori Institute in Baltimore.
A
Montessori education offers unique and individual child development,
a low teacher-child ratio, practice in time management skills,
and integrated subject lessons.
The
Lipman School, a laboratory/demonstration school of the U
of M College of Education, is located at 3771 Poplar.
