Kay Yager, Music Admissions Coordinator, received a Bachelor of Music in Theory and a Bachelor
of Music in Education (Piano/Voice) from Temple University, Philadelphia, PA. As a
Rotary International Foundation Graduate Fellow to the University College of Wales,
Aberystwyth, she was choral conducting apprentice to Ian Parrot. Mrs.Yager was a music
teacher in public schools in PA and NC and music director of churches in NC, AL and
GA. She was Publicist for the Creative Arts Guild, Dalton, GA for 2 years before becoming
the Assistant Director for the Creative Arts Guild, a position she tenured for 10
years. She is a Leadership Dalton graduate. She served as Panelist for the GA Council
for the Arts, board member and officer of the GA Assembly of Community Arts Agencies
and the AL Assembly of Community Arts Agencies. She was the first Arts Director for
the city of Cullman, AL and was the first president of the Cullman Community Arts
Council. Immediately prior to joining the U of M Department of Music in 1997, she
was Business Manager of the Memphis Youth Symphony Orchestra program.
