Deanna Stark, Visiting Professor of Music Education, holds a Master's degree in Orff Schulwerk
and a Ph.D. in historical musicology, both from the University of Memphis. A former
Orff Specialist with Memphis City Schools, she is now an Orff Schulwerk Level II teacher
trainer for several universities and school systems. Dr. Stark is a sponsored clinician
for Peripole, Inc., has presented at the National Orff Conference, and is a nationally
known Orff Schulwerk clinician. She was recently commissioned by the Atlanta-Area
Orff Chapter to arrange its state song (for voices and Orff instruments) to commemorate the
chapter's 50th anniversary. Dr. Stark has published several pieces for children's
voices, and operates a web site with free resources for elementary music teachers.
