Marisa Polesky teaches orchestral repertoire and is assistant principal first violin
with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra, and a member of the IRIS Orchestra. She holds
a Bachelor of Music degree with Performer's Certificate from the Eastman School of
Music, where her teachers included Charles Castleman and Camilla Wicks. She has participated
in numerous music festivals, including Schleswig-Holstein, the Shira Festival (Israel),
American-Russian Youth Orchestra, and the Colorado Music Festival, and she is currently
principal second violin with the Wintergreen Performing Arts Festival in Wintergreen,
VA. She has played under the batons of Blomstedt, Ceccato, Mehta, Kitajenko, Gergiev,
Panula, Salonen, Schiff, Slatkin, Oundjian, Zinman, Eschenbach, and Penderecki, among
others.
