Dan Kalantarian joins the University of Memphis Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music faculty as Assistant Director of Bands. His duties include directing the University Concert Band, directing the Basketball Pep Band, assisting with the "Mighty Sound of the South" Marching Band, and teaching courses in music education. Mr. Kalantarian holds Bachelor and Master's degrees from UCLA and has previously served as Associate Director of Bands at Idaho State University, the University of Hawaii, Wake Forest University and Ball State University.
