The Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music of the University of Memphis has much to offer the serious music student with degree programs in virtually every area of musical interest. It is staffed with an outstanding faculty of artists and pedagogues who were trained at some of the best institutions in the world. Ours is the largest music program in the state of Tennessee and one of the largest in the southeastern United States. Currently we have over 500 students with forty-five full time faculty and more than twenty adjunct instructors. We are the only institution in the state that offers a doctoral degree in music.

With roots dating back more than ninety years, our supportive community of faculty and staff emphasizes our student-centered purpose whether you are a prospective student aiming for a professional career, or simply someone who loves to play and listen to music.
