The University of Memphis Division of Communications, Public Relations and Marketing
has welcomed three staff members recently.
Darla Keel is the University’s new webmaster. Keel has worked in higher education
in the Office of Institutional Research at the U of M and in the Registrar’s Office
and Information and Technology Services at Arkansas State University. She has developed
and managed multiple websites and created homegrown software applications. Most recently
Keel served as director of Enterprise Technical Services at Arkansas State. She earned
a doctorate in educational leadership in 2012.
Meredith Powers, marketing manager, graduated from Rhodes College in 1997 and earned
a master’s degree in higher education administration from Vanderbilt University in
2012. She gained valuable experience while working at the University of Kentucky’s
Gatton College of Business and Economics. Powers also has held marketing positions
at East Kentucky Power, The Vimarc Group and Thompson & Company.
Marketing manager Jackie Rucker earned a bachelor of arts in journalism with a concentration
in public relations from the University of Memphis and a master of business administration
from Webster University. While at the U of M, she served as a Student Ambassador.
A native of Brownsville, Tenn., Rucker worked most recently with Baptist Memorial
Health Care Corp.
