Jimmy Ogle, Memphis historian and local urban explorer, will continue his series of
“Know Your Neighborhood” talks with "Centennial Review and More" at the University
of Memphis Ned McWherter Library on Wednesday, Oct. 17. His talk will begin at noon
in Room 225. It is free and open to the public.
This seventh installment will continue to examine the physical characteristics and
other features of each University of Memphis neighborhood district through the past
century.
The U of M’s main campus is surrounded by seven distinct neighborhood districts, most
which pre-date the 1912 opening of the institution. They include Red Acres, University
Area, Joffre, East Buntyn, Messick-Buntyn, Normal Station, and Sherwood Forest.
The University Libraries of the University of Memphis, with the support of the Friends
of the Libraries, are sponsoring Ogle’s talks.
