For press information, contact Curt Guenther, 901-678-2843

Three bands from the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music will present a “Sousa Spectacular” on Sunday, Nov. 20, at the University of Memphis.  The concert will begin at 3 p.m. in Harris Concert Hall, 3775 Central Avenue.  It is free and open to the public.

One of the University’s Centennial events, the concert will feature the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and University Band as they celebrate the works of John Philip Sousa, America’s March King.

Adding to the celebration will be performances of the works of several other American composers, including Charles Ives’ “Variations on America.”
