The Honorable Robert L. “Butch” Childers

The Honorable Robert L. “Butch” Childers has been chosen as the new president of the
Law Alumni Chapter of the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law at the University of Memphis.
Six new Board members have also been chosen; they are the Honorable George Ellis,
the Honorable Gina Higgins, Richard Glassman, Mary Hackett, Michael Joiner, and Todd
Williams.
Other Board officers are R. Hunter Humphreys, president-elect, and Vickie Hardy Jones,
secretary-treasurer.
Judge Childers was elected Circuit Court Judge in 1984 and was re-elected in 1990,
1998, and 2006.
Judge Ellis has served as Chancellor of the 28th Judicial District of Tennessee since
1993. Previously, he had been City Judge in Dyer, Tenn., and General Sessions Judge
of Gibson County.
Judge Higgins was elected in 2010 to preside over Division 4 Circuit Court for the
30th Judicial District at Memphis.
Glassman is the senior shareholder in the firm of Glassman, Edwards, Wyatt, Tuttle
and Cox.
Hackett is a former lawyer who now works as a coach and personal trainer.
Joiner is an associate with the firm of Rainey, Kizer, Reviere, and Bell.
Williams is an associate with the Spicer firm.
Humphreys practices with the Glankler Brown firm.
Jones practices in the areas of domestic relations and general civil litigation.
She is a Tenn. Supreme Court Rule 31 Listed Family Mediator.
