Linda Bonnin has been appointed on an interim basis to serve as vice president for
Communications, Public Relations, and Marketing at the University of Memphis. She
succeeds Bob Eoff, who retired in December 2011 after serving four years in the position.
Bonnin joined the U of M in 1997 and has served as associate vice president of Communications,
Public Relations, and Marketing since 1999. A native Memphian, she began her career
as a journalist for the Memphis Press-Scimitar. Since that newspaper’s closing in 1983, she has worked in marketing and communications
positions in the public and private sectors.
In announcing Bonnin’s appointment, U of M President Shirley Raines said Bonnin has
built successful marketing and communication campaigns for the University’s recruitment
and advancement offices during the past four years. Bonnin is also actively engaged
in the U of M’s strategic planning process and enrollment initiatives, and she is
co-chair of the Centennial celebration.
Bonnin and her staff handle all internal and external communication, marketing, advertising,
publications, and special events. She also manages the University’s social media
presence.
