The University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law and its Moot Court Board
will host the 37th National Trial Competition for Region V on February 17-19. The
competition will take place at the Shelby County Courthouse on Friday and Saturday,
and will conclude at the law school on Sunday.
“We are extremely proud to be hosting this prestigious competition,” said Elisabeth
Toecker, chief justice of the Moot Court Board. “It’s going to take nearly 400 volunteers
to serve as competition judges, witnesses, and bailiffs, as well as many other hospitality
volunteers. The law school, University, and legal communities have truly joined together
to ensure that the competition will be a success,”
Participating schools include Campbell University School of Law, Charleston School
of Law, Charlotte School of Law, Duke University School of Law, Elon University School
of Law, Emory University College of Law, Georgia State College of Law, Mercer University
School of Law, North Carolina Central University School of Law, University of Georgia
School of Law, University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, University
of North Carolina – Chapel Hill School of Law, University of South Carolina School
of Law, University of Tennessee College of Law, Vanderbilt University School of Law,
and Wake Forest University School of Law.
