Hammond Humber with U of M President Shirley Raines

Hammond Humber, a student in Mrs. Smith’s fourth grade class at the University of
Memphis Campus School, won first place in the University’s 2010 Holiday Card Contest.
He is the son of Lori and David Humber of East Memphis. Hammond’s artwork will become
the official U of M holiday card, which will be sent electronically to more than 45,000
faculty, staff, students, alumni, and friends of the University. His winning artwork
was matted and framed, and he received a $200 savings bond.
Damari Puryear, a student in Mrs. Cordero’s fifth grade class at the University of
Memphis Campus School, took second place in the University’s 2010 Holiday Card Contest.
She is the daughter of Averiette and William Puryear of Memphis. She received a $100
savings bond.
Breeze Smith, a student in Mrs. Griffy’s second grade class at the University of Memphis
Campus School, took third place in the University’s 2010 Holiday Card Contest. She
is the daughter of Angela and David Smith of Memphis. She received a $50 savings bond.
