At the recent Memphis Bar Foundation Fellows Reception, two awards from the Bogatin
Fund were presented to University of Memphis law students.
The Irvin Bogatin Social Justice Award was presented to third-year law student C.
Grace Whiting in recognition of her demonstrated understanding that the attorney’s
role is one of service to the community by advancing the cause of social justice.
In addition, the Irvin Bogatin scholarship was presented to first-year law student
Christopher Santirojprapai, in recognition of his community service work. The awards
were created by the family of Irvin Bogatin, who established a fund with the Memphis
Bar Foundation to recognize his long and devoted service to the bar and the community,
especially in the area of social justice. The awards were expanded this year to include
a scholarship to a first-year law student.
