The University of Memphis will hold its fall Study Abroad Fair Thursday, Sept. 13,
from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Student Plaza. (In the event of rain, the fair will
be held in the Rose Theatre, immediately adjacent to the plaza.)
Students will have a chance to speak with Study Abroad faculty, program providers
and past program participants about international study opportunities. Information
about semester, summer and full academic year programs will be available. All students
who attend will have a chance to win one of three $1,000 scholarships or round-trip
airfare toward a U of M-sponsored study abroad program. Students may also apply for
a U.S. passport at the fair; representatives from the Department of State will be
on hand to accept applications.
The U of M Study Abroad program offers more than 200 programs in 50 countries. Students
of all majors and levels can apply to study in the country of their choice. All Study
Abroad applicants who have completed a semester at the University are encouraged to
apply.
Most institutional and federal aid can be applied toward the cost of study abroad.
In addition, the University has an International Experience Scholarship Fund for students
who study in other countries.
More information about the event, study abroad opportunities, and scholarships is
