n'IFTI Celebrates the New Classroom

Today is the day that we are chistening the newly redesigned Herff College of Engineering Executive Training Center in the Engineering Administration Building. The IFTI Executive Board will be the first group to use the room. We will use this meeting and learning space for the Freight Transportation Leadership Academy, transportation classes, and small meetings & conferences.

n'IFTI Travels to TRB

n'IFTI joined the faculty and students associated with IFTI to attend the Annual Transportation Research Board (TRB) in Washington D.C. Dr. Martin Lipinski, Dr. Mihalis Golias, Dr. Stephanie Ivey and Research Associate Najmeh Jami were selected to present multiple research projects via lecture and poster presentations. Dr. Golias also presided over two presentations. Research Associate, Ethan Skaggs, was honored at the annual Council of Universities Transportation Centers (CUTC) banquet as the IFTI Student of the Year!

Our trusty tiger traveled to Atlanta, GA with Dan Pallme, Director of Transportation Leadership, and Sean Ellis, Associate Director. He is pictured here on our informational booth at the Intermodal Association of North America's Intermodal Expo (IANA). Dan and Sean attended the conference to promote the Freight Transportation Leadership Academy.

This premier multimodal freight transportation event brought together over 3,000 attendees and 200 exhibits. Since 87% of the attendees were in executive management positions, Dan and Sean discussed the class with the Academy's target audience. The Academy generated lots of interest and excitement from many industry professionals, UofM alumni, Memphians, and friends of the University. If you know someone who should attend the Academy, please contact Dan Pallme.
