IDT Studio

The Instructional Design and Technology Studio (IDT Studio) is a research and development center at the University of Memphis. The Studio is an entrepreneurial service-oriented business, producing products and experiences related to e-learning, instructional design, and educational technology.

The Studio Director is Dr. Trey Martindale, (emartndl@memphis.edu) (telephone: 901-870-6926) Associate Professor in Instructional Design and Technology. The Studio is staffed by graduate students and employees of the University of Memphis with expertise in e-learning, instructional design, and educational technology. Capabilities and services from the IDT Studio include:

  • E-learning and web-based instruction
  • Stand-up training events
  • Print-based instructional materials
  • Audio and video studios and production
  • Multimedia and animation for instruction
  • Performance support and job aids
  • Analysis of learners, tasks, and learning environments
  • Evaluation of instruction
  • Technology integration in instruction

Mission

The IDT Studio equips IDT students for successful careers in e-learning, instructional design, and educational technology through practical experience with real clients.

Vision

The IDT Studio contracts with the leading area corporations and institutions to produce high-quality products related to instruction, learning, and job performance.  Clients and employers appreciate the value and quality of the personnel and products of the IDT Studio. IDT students gain authentic and valuable professional experience in e-learning, instructional design, and educational technology.
