The Instructional Design and Technology Studio (IDT Studio) is a research and development
center at the University of Memphis. The Studio is an entrepreneurial service-oriented
business, producing products and experiences related to e-learning, instructional
design, and educational technology.
The Studio Director is Dr. Trey Martindale, (emartndl@memphis.edu) (telephone: 901-870-6926) Associate Professor in Instructional Design and Technology.
The Studio is staffed by graduate students and employees of the University of Memphis
with expertise in e-learning, instructional design, and educational technology. Capabilities
and services from the IDT Studio include:
- E-learning and web-based instruction
- Stand-up training events
- Print-based instructional materials
- Audio and video studios and production
- Multimedia and animation for instruction
- Performance support and job aids
- Analysis of learners, tasks, and learning environments
- Evaluation of instruction

Mission
The IDT Studio equips IDT students for successful careers in e-learning, instructional
design, and educational technology through practical experience with real clients.

The IDT Studio contracts with the leading area corporations and institutions to produce
high-quality products related to instruction, learning, and job performance. Clients
and employers appreciate the value and quality of the personnel and products of the
