Staff

Frosh Camp Staff

The staff members of Frosh Camp are some of the most involved leaders on our campus.  Our staff consists of counselors and five executive positions.  The executives do most of the planning for camp and training of the counselors during the year.

Counselors

Frosh Camp is completely planned and run by students. Camp counselors are selected for their desire and commitment to help the Frosh, as well as their campus involvement and Tiger Spirit.  

Applications for 2015 Frosh Camp Counselor were due by 4:30 pm on Friday, November 7, 2014.  The deadline has passed.

 

Information for Applicants:

You must have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA in order to be considered for the position of Frosh Camp Counselor.

All students who meet the above qualifications are encouraged to apply for the position of Frosh Camp Counselor. It is not mandatory that you attended Frosh Camp as a freshman in order to be a Frosh Camp Counselor.

Interest Meetings: If you would like to learn more about what Frosh Camp Counselors do and how to become one, join us for a brief informational session October 29, 2014 in the UC Bluff Room (304) at 6:30pm OR November 4, 2014 in the UC Shelby Room (342) at 11:00am. Interest sessions are completely optional but highly encouraged.

Group Interviews: All qualified applicants will participate in group interviews. Group interviews will be held November 10th, 11th, and 12th. You must sign up for an interview time when you submit your application. Please take note of the time and location for your interview. Interviews will last for approximately 1 hour, and you are expected to stay for the duration of the interview.

Individual Interviews: All applicants will be notified by email Thursday, November 13, 2014 whether or not they will move forward in the interview process. Individual interviews will be held Monday, November 17, 2014 and Wednesday, November 19, 2014.

The final counselor list will be released January 2, 2015. Applicants will be notified via email, and the list will be posted on the Frosh Camp website at www.memphis.edu/froshcamp/staff.php 

Meetings: ALL Counselor meetings are mandatory. Counselor meetings will take place once a month and typically last from 11am-5pm. There will be a mandatory two day counselor retreat, as well as several mandatory counselor outings. It is imperative that you are present for the full duration of each meeting. Counselor meeting dates are as follows:

Saturday, January 31                  
Saturday, February 21
Saturday, March 21                     
Saturday, April 11
Friday, May 8                     
Saturday, June 6 AND Sunday, June 7 (Counselor Retreat)
Saturday, June 27

Camp: If you are selected as a Frosh Camp Counselor, you will be expected to attend every Frosh Camp session for the full duration. There are three camps in June, July, and August. The dates are as follows:

June 14 – 18
July 12 – 16
August 2 – 6
