The Fogelman College of Business & Economics has a formal undergraduate and graduate
internship program, incorporating on-the-job learning in its academic environment.
Internship education provides students with the opportunity to supplement academic
instruction with practical, realistic job experience. This new opportunity will provide
qualified junior, senior, and graduate business students with various forms of job
experience in their academic major.
Internships increase the ability of the participating students to function effectively
once they enter the workforce, and to improve their opportunity to make a more accurate
decision about career choices. The total experience is coordinated and supervised
by the University and the cooperating firm. Our office operates as a resource in assisting
with the student's search for internship opportunities, but does not provide placement
Interns can be assigned short or long term projects or assist in the daily operations
of a department. Interns generally work 15 to 20 hours per week, depending on a company's
need. Most positions are paid at a rate determined by the participating company. Internships
are typically available for students in all majors in the Fogelman College.
Searching for an Internship:
The University of Memphis currently uses an online system called eRecruiting to post
internship opportunities that are currently available to students. Registering with
eRecruiting is FREE to all students from freshman to alumni! All you have to do is
activate your account by logging in. Using eRecruiting, you can post your resume,
search for open positions, and apply to open positions.
Students are also welcome to email their resumes and cover letters to the FCBE Internship
Office to be stored in the college's resume book. If an employer requests to view
resumes, your resume will be available. Please, email resumes to firstname.lastname@example.org.
