P.K. Jain Meets with Nobel Prize Laureate

P.K. Jain, FCBE Professor of Finance, Insurance and Real Estate recently met with
Nobel Prize Laureate, Robert Engle, to discuss high frequency trading at the world’s
leading conference in market microstructure. This conference alternated between New
York University and the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) in Cambridge,
Prof. Jain has been invited by NBER several times to present his research on topics
such as (1) Institutional Design and Liquidity on Stock Exchanges around the world,
(2) Order Flow Dynamics on the NYSE, and (3) Institutional Trading Frictions. He has
also been invited several times to discuss research by other leading scholars such
as Market Microstructure Invariance by Albert Pete Kyle who is considered the father
of theoretical microstructure.
Prof. Tom McInish of Fogelman’s Finance Department is also a regular invitee and presenter
of cutting edge microstructure research at the NBER.
